Today we celebrate and honor the legacies of César Chávez and Dolores Huerta. Chavez and Huerta co-founded the National Farm Workers Association, which is now known as the United Farm Workers. Both were advocates for workers and they received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Today SWS 8th grade students and their parents enjoyed a delightful dinner and learned about SWS Early College Academy. Photos to follow.

Our District will be observing Chavez/Huerta Day April 1, 2022. This Day commemorates the legacy of civil and labor rights activists César Chávez and Dolores Huerta. Chávez and Huerta advocated for the rights of farmworkers and in 1962 co-founded the labor union “ United Farm Workers of America (UFW).”
We return to school on Monday, April 4, 2022 with regular school hours.
